How to Combine Multiple Portfolio's

There is no direct merge feature, but one can export trades from a portfolio and easily import the trades into another Portfolio. By using the transaction log function and the Generic CSV file feature found in the “Import Trade File” feature.

Here are the instructions:

Exporting Your Portfolio Transactions

  • Click on the name of the portfolio you wish to export from
  • From the securities held screen, please click on the “Reports” tab
  • Then click on the “Transaction Log” tab
  • Please select the “Date Range”, then “Since Inception” and click on the  “Show” button to update the data
  • In the top right-hand corner, please click on the blue button “Save to CSV”

  • Please save this file to your desktop and note the name of the file, which you can also alter.

Importing a Portfolio

1. Click on the name of the portfolio you wish to import your transactions to

2. From the securities held screen, please click on the green button called “Import Trade File”

 3. Click the “Generic CSV File” button

4. In the next window click on the green button called “Browse”

 

5. In the new window, on the left-hand side column click on “Desktop”, then in the middle of the screen, please click on the "file name" and it will be seen at the bottom of the pop out window in the ‘File Name’ area. Then, click on the “Open” button, found at the bottom right corner.

 

6. The import trades window will appear and in the top left-hand corner a message of “Can be imported with the number of trades in green will appear”.

7. If there are any trades that cannot be imported you will be informed and they can be corrected before importing.

8. To import the file, in the top right-hand corner click on the green button called “Import”

9. The then finished page will appear.

10. You can return to the portfolio, by clicking on the “Back to Portfolio” button.

Please Note:

  • Imported files generally do not accommodate corporate actions, so you may need to manually enter the following transactions:
    • Dividend reinvestment plan, share purchase plan, bonus issues, or rights issue
    • Shares buybacks
    • Reconstructions (mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs)
    • Splits and consolidations
