AI Model Portfolios

Membership availability

AI Model Portfolios are available to Stock Doctor Core and Signature members. Core members can access 2 AI Model Portfolios; Signature members can access all 4 AI Model Portfolios. Foundation members do not have access to AI Model Portfolios.

Overview

AI Model Portfolios are pre-built portfolios in Stock Doctor built and maintained using Lincoln's proprietary machine-learning model. They provide a systematic, data-driven view of a concentrated Australian equity portfolio, designed to help members understand how an AI-informed investment strategy looks in practice.

Unlike a manual stock list or watchlist, AI Model Portfolios are fully constructed, rules-based models that are rebuilt at each rebalance using the latest available data. They are designed to be used as a research reference alongside your own investment decisions, they do not automatically trade your personal portfolio or constitute financial advice.

How to access AI Model Portfolios

  1. Log in to Stock Doctor.
  2. Select AI Models from the top menu bar.
  3. Choose an AI Model Portfolio from the listing page.
  4. Open the portfolio to view its overview, key metrics, sector exposure, performance chart, and holdings.

The AI behind the Model portfolios

The portfolios are powered by Stock Doctor's Macro Multi-Factor Equity AI Model a supervised machine-learning model that learns from historical relationships between company characteristics and future share price returns.

Rather than trying to predict the overall direction of the market or exact share prices, the model focuses on ranking stocks relative to each other at each rebalance date. The stocks with the highest expected return potential are the candidates for inclusion.

The model uses structured, auditable data only, including:

  • Company financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow)
  • Market prices and returns
  • Derived metrics covering profitability, growth, balance sheet strength and risk

The model is supervised and cross-sectional, which means it learns from past outcomes and compares stocks against one another rather than trying to forecast the whole market. Portfolio construction rules then determine the final holdings, balancing return potential, diversification, turnover, and risk.

Why Financial Health matters

Every AI Model Portfolio applies Stock Doctor's Financial Health screen as a mandatory eligibility filter before any model ranking takes place. Only stocks rated Strong or Satisfactory are eligible for inclusion — financially weak companies are excluded from consideration regardless of their modelled return forecast. Stocks must also meet a minimum average daily traded value of $200,000.

This is an important part of how Stock Doctor applies machine learning. The model helps identify opportunities, but portfolio eligibility still depends on financial strength and risk control.

How portfolios are constructed

At each rebalance date, the model ranks all eligible Australian listed stocks by expected return. The Financial Health screen is applied first, then the model ranks the remaining stocks. A portfolio framework selects the highest-ranked stocks and manages position sizes and sector exposure to construct the final portfolio.

Available AI Model Portfolios

Stock Doctor currently includes four AI Model Portfolios:

  • Alpha+ Intelligent MF High-Turnover Small-Cap — Highly active, small-cap focused portfolio with monthly rebalancing. Applies a high-turnover construction setting which prioritises the addition of stocks with the strongest relative forecast signals over the retention of existing holdings.
  • Alpha Intelligent MF High-Turnover Large-Cap — Highly active, large-cap focused portfolio with monthly rebalancing. Applies a high-turnover construction setting which prioritises the addition of stocks with the strongest relative forecast signals over the retention of existing holdings.
  • Alpha Intelligent MF High-Turnover Small-Cap — Highly active, small-cap focused portfolio with monthly rebalancing. Applies a high-turnover construction setting which prioritises the addition of stocks with the strongest relative forecast signals over the retention of existing holdings.
  • Alpha Intelligent MF Active Large-Cap — Lower turnover, large-cap focused portfolio with monthly rebalancing. Prioritises the retention of holdings that continue to exhibit strong relative forecast signals, while selectively adding new stocks with favourable model support.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I copy an AI Model Portfolio into my own portfolio? There is no one-click import feature. You can use the Current Holdings tab as a reference for your own research, but any trades are your own decision.
  • What stocks are included in AI model Portfolios? Only Australian listed equities rated Strong or Satisfactory under Financial Health screening that also meet minimum liquidity requirements (Avg. daily traded greater than 200k).
  • How many stocks does an AI Model portfolio hold? The number may vary by portfolio. Each portfolio targets a concentrated number of holdings, which may change based on how many stocks pass the Financial Health screening at each rebalance.
  • Does the holding in an AI model portfolio change over time? Yes, changes may occur at each rebalance to adapt to changing market conditions and/or company fundamentals.
