Quant Model Portfolios are pre-built portfolios in Stock Doctor that use a rules-based investment framework to select and maintain holdings. They are designed for members who want a systematic, factor-based approach that first filters out financially unhealthy companies before any ranking or portfolio selection takes place.
How to access Quant Model Portfolios
- Log in to Stock Doctor.
- Select AI Models from the top menu bar.

- Open the portfolio to view its overview, key metrics, sector exposure, performance chart, and holdings.
Quant Model Portfolios are available to Stock Doctor Foundation, Core, and Signature members. Foundation members have access to 2 portfolios; Core and Signature members have access to all 4.
How they work
Stocks must pass two eligibility filters before they can be considered for inclusion:
- Financial Health (Golden Rule 1): Stocks must pass Stock Doctor's Financial Health criteria. Only stocks rated Strong or Satisfactory are eligible for inclusion. Companies with weak balance sheets, low profitability, poor cash flow quality, or reduced financial resilience are excluded regardless of their ranking.
- Minimum liquidity: Stocks must meet a minimum average daily traded value of $200,000 on entry into the portfolio. They are not removed later solely because of a drop in average daily trade below $200,000.
Once eligible, stocks are ranked using defined company factors, either growth factors alone, or a combination of growth and value factors. The top 20 ranked stocks are selected to form the portfolio.
Strategy variations
Quant Model Portfolios come in two construction styles:
- No Rebalancing: Position sizes are not rebalanced over time. Once a stock enters the portfolio it grows or reduces with price movement until it is replaced at a rebalance.
- Equal Weight: Position sizes are rebalanced back to equal weighting when there is an entry or exit event.
