How can we help you today?

Security (Bell Direct Online Brokering)

Stock Doctor and Bell Direct uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all communications between your computer and the trading platform. We do all we reasonably can to keep the details of your order and payment secure.  In the absence of negligence on our part, we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from the site.

The Stock Doctor website will log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity and will request that you re-enter your login details.

All Stock Doctor customer passwords are also encrypted in our database. This information is not viewable even by Lincoln Indicators staff, and will not be intelligible by malicious individuals in the unlikely event that the database is compromised.

Good practices to follow for any financial site include:

  • Don’t access site from public computers, such as internet cafes, as there may be software on those computers that could discover your passwords.
  • Ensure your computer is protected by anti-virus program and firewall.
  • Don’t follow links in emails asking you to confirm your login details – we won’t ask you for your password in any emails.

A good password is:

  • More than 8 characters – the longer and more complex your password the harder it is for someone to decipher it.
  • Made up of a variety of letters, numbers and symbols such as ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/.
  • Unique (not re-used for other accounts or apps).
  • Current (changed at least every 90 days).
  • Easy to remember, difficult to guess (avoid dictionary words, dates, names etc).
